  • BY TERRY JOHNSON
  • Terry Johnson’s gripping and blackly comical play comes to The Brindley Theatre for a strictly limited run. Grace Kelly, Tippy Hedren, Kim Novak: Why did Hitchcock prefer blondes?

Cleverly intertwining three stories concerning legendary film director Alfred Hitchcock, Hitchcock Blonde sees Alex, a media tutor suffering from a mid-life crisis, invite Jennifer, one of his students to a Greek villa to examine a long-lost film fragment that Hitchcock made in 1919. Meanwhile, in 1959, Hitch is auditioning a troubled Blonde actress to play Janet Leigh’s body double in the infamous shower scene of his film Psycho, and finally, the lost film is recreated, arguably explaining the director's obsession with persecuted blondes.

    Strictly Adults Only.
