A notice from Chris Barber's Management regarding this show:
“Dear ladies and gentlemen, dear fans of the Big Chris Barber Band,
The band is coming on the 28th July to your theatre and looking forward to seeing you all and performing.
Unfortunately, Chris fell recently and went for treatment into hospital. He was back home again and getting ready to do his concerts. As he was getting on very well, we thought with good daily exercise and physiotherapy he would be able to be perfectly fit to perform by now. Unfortunately, the doctors have decided that he has to go back into a recovery home, so I’m afraid he will not be able to meet you personally. He has instructed the 9 musicians in the band to perform exactly as usual, 2 or 3 of the band members will do the announcements and talk about Chris and his music.
We apologise for any inconvenience, but you, the audience, will still have a special concert in the spirit of Chris Barber's great music. The band is in great form and they have taken up the challenge to perform at their utmost best to show you and Chris that their presentation of his music will be - as usual - excellent!!
We wish Chris all the best and expect him to be back very soon."
